25th International Open - Woman Made Gallery | January 6th, 2024

Woman Made Gallery is accepting entries for its 25th International Open, a juried exhibition open to women and non-binary artists worldwide. The exhibition, curated by Priscilla Otani, encourages exploration and challenge of conceptual and material boundaries. Prizes will be awarded, and the exhibition will take place at Woman Made Gallery in Chicago.

Bilingual Teaching Artists - Queens Museum | January 13th, 2024

Queens Museum is seeking bilingual teaching artists for adult programs. The artists will lead art classes, workshops, and educational programs in Spanish and/or Mandarin for older adults. They will design and deliver art-based curricula, incorporate museum exhibitions into the curriculum, and engage with students, parents, and community members in both Spanish and/or Mandarin and English. The artists will also facilitate museum experiences for school groups, address challenges that arise during classes, and participate in professional development activities. Qualifications include prior teaching experience, proficiency in Spanish and/or Mandarin and English, and availability to teach at multiple sites. Compensation is $40 hourly.

Back to Nature International Art Competition | January 31st, 2024

All 2D and 3D visual art is welcome (Painting, Mixed Media, Photography, Digital, and Sculpture). Competition is open to artists worldwide, regardless of background, skill level, or style.

Requirements: Must be 18 or older to participate.

RUTH CRAWFORD SEEGER PRIZE - Elmhurst University | January 12th, 2024

Elmhurst University is offering the RUTH CRAWFORD SEEGER PRIZE for aspiring composers and songwriters. Winners receive cash prizes, scholarships, and a campus visit. Open to composers of any age or nationality. Deadline: January 12, 2024.

Come As You Are Fellowship - No Divide KC | January 19th, 2024

The Come As You Are opportunity aims to break down barriers of access in the concert space through reimagined musical experiences and storytelling. It offers CAYA Fellowships for composers and librettist/writers to create new works, workshops, rehearsals, and a grand concert event. The program includes an artist stipend. Pre-existing vocal works that express personal experiences with accessibility, privilege, and prejudice are also accepted. The event is family-friendly and accessible to people with disabilities.

Composers' Residency: Writing for Opera - JAM | January 26th, 2024

The Composers' Residency is a free residential course for emerging composers to create new operas. Composers will have access to world-class tutoring and the opportunity to write operas focusing on Derek Jarman's life. The operas will be premiered at JAM on the Marsh festival. One composer will be awarded the President's Commission to write a new opera for performance in 2025. Composers will have access to festival concerts and events and the chance to meet world-class artists. The residency is open to composers aged 18 and over, born, living, or studying in the UK.
