The School of Music at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a tenure-track position in Music Technology to join the faculty at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor starting August 16, 2023.
Responsibilities: Serve as a leader in the School’s music technology program and assist in the design of new curricula aimed at preparing students for a variety of well-defined career opportunities. Teach core and elective courses within our bachelor’s degree programs in Computer Science + Music and Music Technology, including those courses involving software design and coding; additional course offerings that fit within the School’s composition/music theory/music technology area will also be expected. Seek collaboration with units and programs across campus—such as the Grainger College of Engineering, Game Studies, and the Siebel Center for Design—as well as areas within the School of Music and the College of Fine and Applied Arts. Advising undergraduate and graduate student projects. Recruit students for the music technology programs. Service to the School, University and to the field.
