National Young Composers Challenge 2023 - Composition Contest for US Residents

The National Young Composers Challenge (NYCC) is a music composition contest open to US residents aged 13-18. Participants may submit one composition per contest either for a small ensemble or full orchestra. The compositions must not exceed 5 minutes in length and should be written solely by the entrant. Six winners will be selected, three for full orchestra and three for small ensemble, and will receive $1000 and $500 respectively. Winning compositions will be performed and recorded at the NYCC Composium held in the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Florida, US. Winners will have to be present at the event, provide their own lodging and transportation, and supply a copy of the conductor's score to the same link as the MP3 file. Participation and entry are free. Judges will select winning compositions based on their artistic quality and skill in orchestration, notation, and scoring. The deadline for submission is October 1.
