The Renée B. Fisher Foundation and the Neighborhood Music School announce a call for scores for new piano works to be premiered in each division at its 2024 and 2025 piano competitions. The submissions must be written for this competition and must not have been published, recorded or publicly premiered prior to the competition. Deadline for application is January 14, 2023. This is a biannual competition; four composers will be chosen, two for the competition in 2024 and two for the competition in 2025. Each will receive $1,500 for the winning new work for talented young pianists; the divisions for each year are elementary and middle school (Grade 8 & below) for which the duration of the piece should be 3-4 minutes and high school (Grades 9-12) for which the duration of the piece should be 4-5 minutes. Applicants must currently live or study in Connecticut.
