Salary: $62,352 - $65,000

The successful applicant will teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in jazz improvisation, jazz arranging, jazz applied lessons and, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and interest, jazz history and jazz theory. There will also be opportunities to teach in our innovative University Interdisciplinary Studies program. Other responsibilities may include overseeing jazz ensembles and programs. Additional responsibilities include curricula and program development and administration; participating in student recruitment, retention, and advising to enroll and maintain a strong, inclusive, and diverse student body; engaging in active, peer-reviewed creative/scholarly activities; serving on division, School, and/or University committees; maintaining office hours; and working collaboratively and productively with colleagues. Positive tenure and promotion decisions require excellent teaching; an active and successful program of creative/scholarly activity in the jazz discipline; and strong leadership contributions to the School, University, and external professional organizations that serve the broader jazz community.
