Salary: $62,352 - $65,000
The successful candidate will serve as an integral part of the Hartt Composition community by teaching courses determined, in part, by the specific expertise of the applicant and including individual undergraduate through doctoral composition lessons. There will also be opportunities to teach in the innovative University Interdisciplinary Studies program. An active scholarly/research/artistic agenda with peer-reviewed publications, presentations, performances, or other accomplishments in music composition are expected for successful tenure and promotion applications. Service to the division, college, and university is performed while broadly advancing the discipline of music composition and will include advising and supervising master’s theses and doctoral dissertations; supporting student activities through attendance at concerts and recitals, coordinating score calls, and facilitating collaborative and interdisciplinary special projects; developing curricula; serving on division, school, and/or university committees; and may include directing one of Hartt’s creative music ensembles. Other responsibilities include overseeing and participating in student recruitment, retention, and advising to enroll and maintain a strong, inclusive, and diverse student body.
