The Sean Satin Guitar Composition Prize

Composers Concordance presents the Sean Satin Guitar Composition Prize. Our dear friend and collaborator Sean Satin — a tireless music educator and champion of contemporary guitar music — passed away on April 19th, 2024. In his honor, we are proud to continue an annual guitar composition competition celebrating creativity, innovation, and new music.

2025 Call for Scores
This year’s call is for a 5-minute composition for electric guitar, cello da spalla, and piano,
or one of the following subsets:
Solo electric guitar
Duo: electric guitar + cello da spalla
Duo: electric guitar + piano

Prize & Performance
The winning composition will be performed on December 27th, 2025 at Steel Wig Music (NYC)
by the Centuries Trio as part of a Composers Concordance concert.

Submission Guidelines
1. Submit a 5-minute composition for electric guitar, cello da spalla, and piano, or certain subsets as listed above.

2. Deadline: End of day November 24th, 2025.

3. Email a PDF score and MP3 recording
