VISUAL ART

Long Meadow Art Residency awards solo residencies three months in duration with a stipend of $3,000 per month, and an art supply/transport budget of up to $2,500, provides the use of a car, a house and art studio in the Berkshires Massachusetts. The residency offers mentoring, support, interaction from the local community and collaboration from a Board of Directors that includes successful artists, gallerists, art historians, and collectors.


The Forge Project Fellowship is a cohort of six Indigenous individuals that represent a broad diversity of cultural practices, participatory research, organizing models, and geographical contexts that honor Indigenous pasts as well as build Native futures. Six Indigenous artists, scholars, organizers, cultural workers, researchers, or educators will each receive $25,000 and more.


NXTHVN Fellowship - NXTHVN | February 26th, 2024

NXTHVN is a groundbreaking institution that combines the best of arts and entrepreneurship. Each year, up to seven artists and two curators are selected for the paid 10-month intensive Fellowship Program. Fellows receive studio or office space, a stipend, and subsidized housing. The program includes professional development sessions and mentorship-driven curriculum. Proof of Covid vaccination is required.

 



 

MUSIC


OneBeat Taiwan | February 9th, 2024

OneBeat Taiwan is accepting applications for dynamic musician-educators from Taiwan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and the United States interested in developing tools for music education and uplifting indigenous traditions within the region. Twelve fellows, ages 19-35, will be selected to participate in an intensive two-week musical residency in Hualien on Taiwan’s east coast. One of the least populous areas in Taiwan due to its mountainous terrain, Hualien is also home to a number of indigenous communities and families, who make up nearly 30% of the population. Fellows will collaborate with local musicians, engage with youth and lead creative workshops that reflect the deep knowledge and resilient traditions of these communities. OneBeat Taiwan is organized in collaboration with guest Artist Director, composer and educator Sayun Chang, who has a deep history as an educator in Taiwan and has been working in Hualien since 2020.


Participants must live in and be a citizen of one of the following countries: Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, United States


The National Flute Association is seeking original flute choir compositions for their annual competition. Compositions must be no longer than 12 minutes and include a minimum of six parts. The winning composition will be performed at the 2024 NFA Convention in San Antonio. No prize money is awarded. Submissions must be anonymous and comply with competition requirements, including providing a PDF copy of the score and parts, an electronic sound file, and an explanation of the composition. NFA membership is required for flutists. Deadline for submission is February 14, 2024.


The Domino Ensemble is accepting applications for a composition workshop and concert for young composers in East Tennessee. Selected composers will have the opportunity to participate in composition workshops, classes, a premiere, and a video recording of the performance for free. The final performance will take place on May 18th at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Knoxville. The application deadline is February 16th.

 

PERFORMING ARTS


Perform as a Tenure Track member of the Allentown Symphony Orchestra -2nd Violin Section.

Teaching Artist with El Sistema Lehigh Valley (Program activities typically occur Mon-Fri 2:00-6:00 PM).

School Engagement: classroom and assembly presentations, workshops, demonstrations, string clinics.

Community Engagement; recitals, speech presentation, collaborations with area arts & social agencies.

Attend administrative meetings.


The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra is seeking an Assistant/Utility Horn and Third Horn to join their team. This position requires a highly skilled and versatile horn player who can perform both as an assistant/utility horn and as the Third Horn. Responsibilities include performing in concerts, rehearsals, and recordings, as well as participating in educational and community outreach programs. Candidates should have solid orchestral experience and be able to perform at a high level in a professional setting. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.


Performing Artist in Residence - Brooklyn Botanic Garden | February 29th, 2024

One artist will be selected for a residency in 2024. The artist will spend time creating work in and inspired by the Garden. They will host one or two public classes, seminars, or activities, then showcase their final work in September 2024. The theme for the 2024 residency is Natural Attraction, celebrating the plant-pollinator relationship through the lens of BBG’s vast and varied collections and the native insects to which they are inextricably linked.

 

DESIGN


The Call for Entries to participate in FILE – Electronic Language International Festival's projects in 2024 is now open. The festival seeks original artworks in Art and Technology, by Brazilian and international artists. Registration remains open until February 10th. FILE is a non-profit cultural organization that has propagated creation and experimentation in Art and Technology through exhibitions, events, and publications over 23 years. This call opens up the opportunity to participate in the 23rd Edition of the Electronic Language International Festival, scheduled to take place at the FIESP Cultural Center in São Paulo. The selected projects will also be able to collaborate on parallel events in different states in Brazil.


The Eskenazi School of Art Architecture + Design at Indiana University Bloomington invites applications for a 4–6-week McKinney International Art and Design Residency. An established artist or designer will be selected whose primary country of residence is outside the United States.
