VISUAL ART


Three exceptional artists will be selected to work with us in-depth, delving into the treasures of the Armstrong archival collection to find inspiration for new works that fuse music, dance, spoken word, and various visual and performing arts.


Artists or scholars are invited to engage in the research, development, and execution of a new work based on the NYPL’s Picture Collection. Stipends are awarded on a sliding scale of $2,000 to $5,000.


The Early Career Artist Residency program provides ceramic artists with a one-year residency at Northern Clay Center, including a furnished studio space, material and firing stipend, and professional development opportunities. Open to international artists, the fellowship focuses on functional, sculptural, relational, or installation-based work. Eligibility requires completion of formal academic training, not currently enrolled in a degree-granting institution or employed full-time as a ceramics teacher. Apply by March 31, 2024.

MUSIC

The SMF Teaching Academy is a one-of-a-kind hybrid fellowship-internship program for collegiate instrumental music education majors. Utilizing South Shore Conservatory’s rich infrastructure and Summer Music Festival’s dedicated team of artist-educators and breadth of programming, this highly selective program will enable a small group of fellows to engage in:

Supervised teaching of chamber music, sectional rehearsals, and large ensembles

Group and individual teaching review sessions

Daily reflection and growth meetings

Teaching & leadership development sessions

Related skill development (marketing, development, arts administration, etc.)


The Scorefollower organization is hosting the SCORE FOLLOWER 2024 Spring Call for Works. Composers can submit up to three works by 17 March. Selected works will be produced by the Scorefollower team and uploaded to their YouTube channel. The call is open to composers of any age and background, with terms and conditions provided on their website. Submissions are free for the first piece. Selected works will fall into two categories: Follow My Score and Scorefol.io Highlight. Work notifications will be sent by 17 May, and uploads will occur between 1 June and 30 November 2024.


ensemble vim seeks three composers to collaborate with visual artists, offering $2,000 award, $1,000 project allowance, workshops, travel stipend, lodging, and premiere recordings. Applicants must be US residents. Deadline: March 31, 2024.

 

PERFORMING ARTS


The Performance Project @ University Settlement is seeking artists in the performing arts for a residency program focused on community engagement in New York City. Selected artists will receive a stipend, reimbursement for supplies, share of ticket income, and support with artistic projects. Artists must engage with the University Settlement community, participate in workshops, and present a culminating event. Vaccination requirements apply. Applications open for artists in New York City for 2024/25 residency.


Call for 20-minute live performances at Kansas City Contemporary Music Festival by newEar Contemporary Chamber Ensemble. Proposals must connect to the theme 'Escapes.' Paid compensation through donations and honorarium, plus technical requirements outlined.
